Introducing a new collaboration
Text: Cécile Figuette
Images: Bien Fait
Tabby Booth is a British painter whose work draws on coastal landscapes and folk art traditions. Her compositions bring together animals, plants, and maritime motifs, forming images that are both narrative and decorative.
Characterised by a spontaneous line and textures reminiscent of printmaking, her visual language revisits familiar themes — the sea, wildlife, and rural landscapes — through a graphic and contemporary lens.
Her work reflects an interest in simple, symbolic imagery, where nature and folklore are collected in rich and lively compositions.
"Her work treads an interesting parallel path between illustration and raw, traditional painting - exploring themes of mythology, mysticism, and the sea. A fascination with folk and outsider art, combined with a passion for interiors: the resulting visuals are bold yet playful, intentionally crafted by Tabby for the walls of equally bold and playful individuals."
Cécile Figuette, Creative Director
Tabby's Song
Tabby's song was first a painting on wood, of birds perched through foliage, almost like they’re having a discussion or a chorus. Branches weave across the surface while the birds punctuate the composition, their silhouettes emerging among the leaves. The drawing balances density with open space, allowing the eye to move through the pattern.
Ancient Sea
With Ancient Sea, whales, sailing ships, octopuses, and shoals of fish drift through a field of swirling waves. The imagery borrows from maritime folklore and historic seafaring iconography, yet the treatment remains characteristically quirky and graphic: can you spot the lobster, and the dancing mermaid?
