Lia Rochas-Pàris

Lia Rochas-Pàris is a multidisciplinary artist living in Paris. Cécile Figuette was captivated by her collage art, a means for the young woman to reconstruct her memories, in an archivist's impulse, in search of a personal archaeology.

Born to a sculptor father and a dancer mother, Lia incorporates the concepts of body and movement into her work, inviting viewers to contemplate her art by moving, almost dancing, to multiply perspectives, from blur to clarity, from microscopic to wide-angle.

The exercise of wallpaper has given her the opportunity to enlarge her motifs cut from old books and magazines. As if by magic, this change of scale allows everyone to immerse themselves in her composition.

As a child, Lia Rochas collected seashells, minerals, and starfish gathered on the beach.

She revisits this theme dear to her heart on the occasion of her collaboration with Bien Fait.

Guided by the spirit of the surrealists, her eye gives the photographic visuals the patina of time. Man Ray, Dora Maar, and Jean Cocteau are some of the references for this nostalgist of 20th-century art.
